Grace & Andrew. Beach Wedding at Motutara Farm, Whananaki

Picture this: a sun-kissed summer day, a picturesque camping spot in Whananaki, Northland, and a gathering of wonderful souls coming together to celebrate love. It’s the stuff dreams are made of, and it was an absolute joy to capture every moment of Grace and Andrew’s beautiful wedding day at Motutara Farm Camp. As a photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect setting, loving couple, and an atmosphere that felt like home. One of the things that Grace and Andrew appreciated most about my photography style was my focus on incorporating the natural environment into my work. And what better place to do just that than in the stunning surroundings of Whananaki? It was important to them, and it became a driving force behind my approach to the day, ensuring that their love story was intertwined with the beauty of the land they hold so dear.

Their wedding was more than just a day—it was an ultimate glamping wedding weekend filled with love, quality time, swimming, great food, and drinks, with most of the guests staying at the camp with the couple. Motutara Farm was more than just a venue; it is Grace’s happy place, where her family spends every summer camping, and where Andrew chose to propose on that memorable 8-year anniversary. It’s a place that radiates happiness, and it was an honor to capture that feeling in every frame.

Can I mention that magical light! It was as if the sun knew it was part of something truly special that day. The golden rays painted a soft glow over everything, turning every moment into a piece of art. As the sun was setting down in a soft pink glow, the moon was rising on the opposite side. It was pure magic, from Grace’s radiant smile to Andrew’s loving gaze, I was in photographer’s paradise, capturing their love story against the backdrop of one of my favorite wedding locations in all of New Zealand. As I clicked away, I couldn’t help but feel like a part of something bigger than just a wedding. Grace, Andrew, and their loved ones welcomed me with open arms, making me feel like family. The atmosphere was so relaxed, as if we were old friends, and that comfort translated into the most natural and heartwarming photos. Being a part of such a special day, one that felt like a quintessential Kiwi summer, was an absolute privilege.

From the waves whispering in the soft sunset glow to the laughter that filled the air, every moment was steeped in love. Grace and Andrew’s affection for each other was a beautiful thing to witness. You could practically feel their connection in the air, a palpable reminder of why I love being a wedding photographer—capturing these genuine, love-filled moments that will be cherished forever.

As I reflect on Grace and Andrew’s Northland beach wedding, I can’t help but smile. It was one of those days that reminds me why I do what I do. Their love, the setting, the people—it all came together in a way that was pure magic. Here’s to Grace and Andrew, to their love story, and to the beautiful journey they’ve embarked on, one that began at Motutara Farm, surrounded by the love of friends and family.
